The 2027 collection has arrived with a range of practical improvements, fresh cover designs, and adaptable tools created to make planning, documentation, organisation, and record keeping more streamlined. From Educators and Educational Leaders to FDC Coordinators, Cooks, and Centre Managers, the 2027 range has been designed to support a wide variety of professional roles and workflows.

Fresh Cover Designs – Taking it Back to Nature

For 2027, our collection takes a quieter, more grounded approach — inspired by the beauty, resilience, and detail found within Australian native flora. The Back to Nature series was created to reflect the calm, connection, and authenticity that so many professionals are seeking within their everyday environments. Featuring soft botanical elements and earthy tones, these covers are designed to feel timeless and practical while still bringing warmth and character to your workspace.

More than a visual refresh, the 2027 collection represents a return to simplicity, intention, and thoughtful practice. In professions centred around people, relationships, and responsibility, we wanted this year’s designs to feel steady and connected to the natural world around us. Whether sitting in a staff room, on a programming table, in a family day care environment, or standing proudly on display, the collection has been designed to feel professional, calming, and purposeful — supporting the important work happening within its pages every day. All our Diaries have returned in our 2027 Collection and each cover carries a soft repeating pattern drawn from native plants – wattle, waratah, banksia, gum blossom – pressed into the signature colours you already know. The OSHC purple is still purple. The Children's Centre teal is still teal. We've just given them roots.

All-New Diaries, Additions and Changes

Here’s what’s been added to the Butler Diaries range and what adjustments have been made in 2027:

Programming and Reflection Diaries - In response to changes in regulations, there has been a small but intentional change to our Programming and Reflection Diaries. The 'Photographic Evidence of Learning' section on the programming spread has been adjusted to 'Evidence of Learning'. This does not mean you can no longer include photographic evidence, but it does open the space to other forms of evidence such as observations, jottings, children's voices, reflections, evaluations, learning stories, work samples, diagrams, drawings, feedback and more.

Weekly Programming and Reflection Diary and Central Outdoor Weekly Programming and Reflection Diary - Both EYLF Diaries have been updated to include the WAKLG Framework. They now include EYLF, VEYLDF, and WAKLG, making them the Diaries for indoor and outdoor programming for all States except QLD Kindy's and OSHC Services. who have their own Diaries.

Educator Planner - This year, we introduced the Educator Planner, designed as a bridge between home and work. This practical B5-sized travel planner moves with you, helping you plan your busy life while stopping to remind you to take care of yourself. The 2026 Educator Planner was introduced in Vertical Format; the 2027 Educator Planner comes in two styles:
- 2027 Educator Planner - Vertical Layout
- 2027 Educator Planner - Horizontal Layout

FDC Combined Compliance & Programming Diary for FDC and FDC Compliance Checklist Diary – We introduced the FDC Combined Compliance and Programming Diary last year and it has come back with the 2027 collection. Both FDC Compliance Diaries have seen a slight adjustment to their daily layout. The compliance day pages now include Fridge/Freezer temperature records, with children away being able to be recorded under Family Communication/Notes. The Finances/Payments section has been updated to Due Today / Finances / Other to create a more open-ended prompt box.

They have seen another adjustment with the Visitor Log being removed from the weekend page. In its replacement, you now have an open ended lined section to capture notes and records tailored to your service. Your Visitor log has been moved to the end of your Diary and has been updated to align with new regulations and safety recommendations. With the new addition of three bookmarks to 2027 Diaries, flipping to key pages like your visitor logs has become even easier.

New Compliance Logs – Joining our other compliance logs are the Immunisation Log with room to track the whole service's immunisation status and updates and the Policy Development and Review Log Book designed to give you a consistent method of reviewing policies aligned with regulations.

Meeting Log and Professional Development Logs - The new drops continue with our brand new Meetings Log and Professional Development Log. Both are B5 travel friendly and provide consistent formats for capturing reflections and key actions. These logs provide evidence of collaboration that adapts practice for quality improvement.

Bundle Updates - Our Art Series bundles with our 2026 Diaries have remained for any 2026 Diaries and matching artist accessories that remain in stock. Our Critical Reflection Bundles have been updated to 2027 Bundles with the 2027 Diary so you can restock for next year. Our Calendar Bundle is available for 2026 and 2027. We are still offering a range of other bundles like our Artist Accessory Bundles if you want to pair your 2027 Diary with artist designed resources.

Digital Tools and Resources

Over the year, we've been building digital tools and resources to support your practice and use of your Butler Tools.

Butler Training Portal

The Butler Training Portal was developed as another avenue of support for our customers. It includes a range of training opportunities such as:

Tutorials - these are short 5-15 minute video tutorials that cover key topics or questions to support you in using your Diaries and Butler Resources.
Guides - these are 10-60 minute guides that focus on a particular Diary or resource and provide support on how to use the different features included.
Professional Development - these are longer 30-120 in-depth professional developments that focus on core principles in ECEC in the context of your Diary or Resource.

We have also began to add digital support materials and checklists to our collection, designed to support you in your role, your use of our tools, and simplify different areas of compliance. While we predominantly focus on our paper documentation systems, we recognise the role of digital in supporting our use and daily practice. Updated Framework and Reference Pages - We have now included WAKLG and VEYLDF reference pages and Developmental Milestones reference pages to the appropriate Programming Diaries and Office and Leadership Diaries, providing you even more compliance tools in one place.
Metal Corners - Metal corners are back to 2027, providing an even stronger cover.
Three Bookmarks - Our 2027 collection now also features three bookmarks, making using your Diary and its handy reference pages even more practical.
Back to Nature Collection - 2027 Diaries feature our new Back to Nature cover with pressed Australian natives into the Diary colours you know and love. All Diaries have one cover option except for the Weekly Programming and Reflection Diary which also features a bright special limited edition. The limited edition comes with its own matching keepsake box.
