Training available for all resources

The First Nations Art Series Bundle – Nominated Supervisor Diary brings together a cohesive set of practical resources designed to support leadership oversight, reflective practice, and service-wide organisation in Early Childhood Education and Care. Centred around the Nominated Supervisor Diary, this bundle supports leaders to maintain clarity across compliance, planning, and team communication, while embedding reflective decision-making into everyday leadership practice.

The Nominated Supervisor Diary Guide supports you to use your Diary effectively as both a compliance reference and a professional leadership tool, helping you track priorities, record reflections, and document decisions that guide practice across the service. To complement this, educators and leaders can also explore the article 50 Ways to Use a Notebook as an Early Childhood Educator, which offers practical ideas for using the included notebook to capture leadership reflections, staff conversations, meeting notes, children’s voices, planning considerations, and follow-up actions that support continuity and shared understanding.

Your leadership team is further supported through free Butler Method training, which introduces a consistent, service-wide approach to planning and reflection. This training demonstrates how Butler Diaries can be used to create shared language, clear documentation pathways, and visible links between reflection, decision-making, and practice — supporting teams to confidently demonstrate the Cycle of Planning in a collaborative and practical way.

For services looking to strengthen leadership practice and team alignment, learning can be extended through the Cycle of Planning Professional Development Training, which explores planning, reflection, and documentation in greater depth using real-world examples and guided walkthroughs designed to support consistent, high-quality practice across teams.

Together, the resources and training within this bundle provide structured, leadership-focused support to help Nominated Supervisors guide reflective practice, support their teams, and keep documentation organised and audit-ready — without adding to workload — while celebrating meaningful First Nations artwork across everyday leadership tools. You can view our full list of training available here or email our team for direction on what training would be most suited to you and your team.

FAQ

Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions

The front pages of the Diary are jam packed with tools to support you in your role such as tracking philosophy and policy reviews, educator availability, nominated supervisor tips, compliance cheatsheets, and more. It is a space that captures quick notes and your to do list so you can manage your day without falling behind. The weekly checklist also helps you keep on top of your priorities.

The Nominated Supervisor Diary is designed to manage the core responsibilities and the busy day of the Nominated Supervisor. To get the most out of the Nominated Supervisor Diary, use it as a central hub to relieve your brain, increase your memory, and reduce stress. Noting your emails to attend to, policies to update, family or staff requests, and your planned meetings - you can be sure nothing slips off the radar and your Service runs smoothly. A quick note helps you stay organised. “If it’s not written down it doesn’t happen”.

As one of the Exceeding Themes, we’ve made sure our Diaries support reflective practice. The Nominated Supervisor Diary includes weekly reflections and goal setting that is a great way to reflect on the week has been, set goals for the team, and drive continuous improvement. The monthly meeting notes and professional goals with the compliance front pages also support reflective practice.

"Each diary that we use is laid out in such a way that ALL compliance and record keeping is there - it simply needs to be filled out - each individual diary ticks all the compliance boxes - all the educators have to do is fill them out - it is really simple and easy to understand - This ensures everything is easy to find and on show for spot checks etc. Also no need to go back and fill in missing gaps as everything is there."

Common feedback that we hear is that our Diaries keep everything is one place. With the pressure of Assessment and Rating and so much paperwork, it can make staying organised difficult. We reduce compliance confusion and support you in keeping everything together - particularly handy now with reduced time notices before A&R now in effect.

These resources are great places to get your questions answered. You can also always get in touch if you can’t find your answer below.
