This Portfolio and Learning Journal is designed to document your child’s journey throughout the year, referencing the EYLF V2.
What is this EYLF about?
Belonging is the basis for living a fulfilling life. Children feel they belong because of the relationships they have with their family, community, culture and place.
Being is about living here and now. Childhood is a special time in life and children need time to just ‘be’—time to play, try new things and have fun.
Becoming is about the learning and development that young children experience. Children start to form their sense of identity from an early age, which shapes the type of adult they will become.
Play is learning
Play is very important for children.
Through play babies and young children explore and learn to understand the world around them as they come to communicate, discover, imagine and create.
When children play they are showing what they have learned and what they are trying to understand. This is why play is one of the foundations of the Early Years Learning Framework.
By using this Framework educators will guide your child’s play by carefully designing learning activities and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
Relationships are key
It is well known that children learn best when they have secure relationships with caring adults. When children from a very early age develop trusting relationships they feel more confident and able to explore and learn.
In early childhood settings, when children feel emotionally secure they learn through play to develop the skills and understandings they need to interact positively with others and gradually learn to take responsibility.
How will it work?
Educators will use this new Framework in a range of early childhood settings, including long day care, preschools and family day care to ensure that your child receives a high quality experience. It has been created and trialled by experienced early childhood educators, academics, parents and carers.
The Framework focuses on your child’s learning. Educators will work with you in order to get to know your child well. They will create a learning program that builds on your child’s interests and abilities, and keep you in touch with your child’s progress.
Watching your child’s progress
Using the New Early Years Learning Framework educators will observe your child’s learning so they can build on it and plan the next steps. They will do this by listening, watching and talking to your child.
They will keep in touch with you regularly to discuss your child’s progress. This Journal documents photos and examples of your child’s work to show what your child is learning, how they are developing and what particular learning interests them.
Working together
By working together, parents and educators can enhance a child’s learning and wellbeing.
As the most important person in your child’s life you can make a difference by talking regularly with your child’s early childhood educator and asking about their learning.
Information you provide allows educators to link your child’s experiences at home with the time they spend together in the early childhood setting
Shipping
- We ship via courier and Australia Post and we have used our shipping discounted rate to be able to offer you a flat rate of only $13.99 Australia Wide (International freight is by weight) for your parcel size and shipping address.
- We generally process in-stock orders the same or next day and they should be shipped to you within 1-4 days depending on your location. Our current year products have a week lead time.
- Our other Soon to be In-Stock products mean that we are expecting stock, we can have preorders to you in 4-12 days depending on the item.
- The default instruction is "Authority to Leave". If they are unable to leave the parcel, the item may be left at the nearest post office or returned back to base.
- To ensure a hassle free delivery, give clear instructions for the postie if your address is hard to find or they need to be buzzed in.
- If you require a signature upon delivery please let us know in the notes. This is not possible with all types of deliveries but we will let you know if not, and you may have to pay extra for this feature.
- If your address is within a school which may be closed on school holidays, please provide an alternative address or let us know when you re-open so we can hold the delivery.
- Deliveries occur between 8am-6pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Returns and Exchanges
We will accept returns for any reason as long as the merchandise is in perfect resalable condition in its original protective packaging and the goods are returned within 90 days after your delivery.
If you would like a replacement sent, please make a new order and then proceed to your account page to request the refund. Then we will give you your refund when we receive the returned goods.
- We will pay for return postage within Australia as long as you return the parcel in its original or similar packaging using the label we will supply to you after you fill out the form. Please note, orders outside Australia are not eligible for paid return postage and will be at your cost.
- If you have the original packing slip, highlight your returned item/s and include it in your return. Otherwise, just a note with your order number, name and centre will be fine.
- Once we receive the returned item/s we will issue the refund. We do not refund the original postage cost, only the price of the goods paid including any discounts.
- All refunds will be provided as a credit to the credit card, PayPal account or other payment method (eg AfterPay) used at the time of purchase within ten (10) business days upon receipt of the returned merchandise. Alternatively, you can opt to choose store credit or direct deposit into your bank.
- If you paid with cheques or EFT please make a note in the field which Bank, BSB, Account Number and Account Name you want the refund to go into.
