No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Butler Diaries is an Australian, teacher-founded company that has made documentation diaries for educators since 2013. The Butler Method Teaching Loop happens to mirror the observe, reflect and adapt cycle at the heart of Steiner practice, which is why Steiner teachers were among the first to ask us for a school edition.
No. It sits alongside them as the connective tissue: the weekly system that plans the block, captures the observations, and holds the reflections that your longer documents draw from.
There is not a mark, grade or rubric anywhere in it. Evidence pages are narrative, in your own words, which is exactly how Steiner assessment works.
