No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Butler Diaries is an Australian, teacher-founded company that has made documentation diaries for educators since 2013, including for more than 160 Montessori organisations. The Butler Method Teaching Loop happens to be the same shape as the Montessori planning cycle, which is why guides asked us for a school edition in the first place.
Never. There is not a mark, grade or rubric anywhere in it. It records your observations and each child's progress through your presentations, in your words. Assessment stays where it belongs, between the guide and the child.
That is your call. Some guides run it alongside their school's system as the working document that the digital record is later drawn from. Others use it as the system. Either way, the floor work happens on paper.
