A Look into the Children's Centre Diary with Examples

Here's we take a look at the Children's Centre Diary to see how it can be used to streamline your admin and help manage your office.

Day Pages of the Children's Service Diary

Care Management

The first boxes on the day spread are the 'Children Absent / Reason' and 'Occasional Care Booked'. These serve as a quick reference and can be utilised by all staff to record changes in children's booking as received by phone, message or email.

When recorded in advance, it provides a great note to help manage changes to the roster and staff needed.

Records of Responsible Person on Duty

Services are required to keep a record of Responsible Person's on duty which includes the Nominated Supervisor and Responsible Persons. This sign in space keeps a record for A&R and helps staff identify the Responsible Person on duty at that time.

    Meetings/Orientations/Training

As meetings, orientations or training is booked, if noted in your Diary, it will allow for planning for ratios to support the staff member getting time off the floor. It's also a great reminder to book the training required of each staff member.

    Staff Away/ Shift Changes

Managing the roster can be one of the most difficult office jobs. Keeping a record of changes to the roster or noting staff away will support overall planning of the service.

    General Correspondence and To Do

With constant communication from staff, community, and families and a million compliance requirements, the correspondence and to do list of a service builds quickly. This space makes sure nothing is forgotten by making sure it is written down as it occurs.

Getting the Most from the Day Pages of the Children's Centre Diary

This Diary works well as an Office Diary that is open in a shared space and works as a communication tool amongst all staff. As staff receive information on staff away, an occasional care booked or other important general correspondence that needs to be noted, they can record it in the Children's Centre Diary ensuring all staff receive the message.

Keeping the Children's Centre Diary as an open communication space for the team helps keep records for assessment and rating, ensures things aren't forgotten and makes sure everyone is on the same page. Communication is the key to smooth operations and is made easy with this Diary.

    Goals for Next Week

Turn your team's reflections and observations into goals that the team can work on together.
